Hurghada

Many travel agents offer to see Egypt pyramids, Kings valley, pharaoh temples but many knows that the greatest miracle hides under water.

 
Our plane slowed down and started to land. We saw fast moving hotels view and unbelievable clear sea just stunned us. One more second passed and plane touched the land. The handclap and plaudits rippled. Stewardess voice announced that plane landed in Hurghada airport. “Welcome arrived to Egypt”. Hot and dry air of desert met us. Here we are – in divers heaven. After 20 minutes passport control had checked our documents we were going to the town which was only a fishers village 15 years ago. Today this is a tourists town where hotels are settled by the coast and you need 40minutes to get from one side to the other one. The bus have stopped soon near our hotel.

The same evening diving centre principal has taken our heavy diving inventor to the base. We reloaded boxes and checked inventor once more. After few minutes of discussions we decided that we will go near El Fanadir reef.

The sun played on the water and heated ship deck. The yacht scythed the waves and soon we were far away of land. We were standing on the deck and we saw a bottom of sea clearly despite more than 20 meters depth. The ship berthed and blackamoor told us that we can prepare for dive. The diesel engine turned off and the ship swayed in the waves calmly. Then we opened reef plan and started to discuss about dive route, signals, each place person in a group and what we should do if someone fall behind stunned by underwater world. For this trip our group has prepared at homeland too. Peoples passed PADI courses in Klaipeda, they experienced in Plateliai lake. So what has happened now wasn’t something knew. We put on our costumes, BCD with tanks, masks, flips and after one more check we jumped into the waves. Someone has noticed that water is very salt. When we were sure that everyone have prepared we deflate the air from BCD and dived deeper slowly.

It was hard to believe. Deep monometer showed 20 meters deep. But it was still very light. We thought that for 1 st time it is enough though the deep tempted us so strong. Colorful corals impressed us by variety of shapes. Wonderful gamut of colors “played” on the bottom of sea. The nature made corals so colorful and beautiful… In the gardens of corals fish hidden but they didn’t show any regards to us. A pair of fish Clowns guarded their plant and it guarded them from other fishes. The fish crocodile invisibly lied on the bottom of sea. An enormous fish Napoleon watched us carefully. Manta burrowed herself in the sand. We tried to get a bit closer that we could make a better photos but it didn’t like that and stately swam away. The tanks were almost empty so we swam to the ship. An enormous Moray opened it’s mouth and showed it’s teeth. We all wanted to make a photo nearby but it has been frightened of photo light so it hidden in the cave. Very big turtle agrees to ride us a bit but even it get rid of us soon. Our photo cameras were full of photo. We all together got back to the ship slowly. Soon we were above water and the crew smiled. We all get out of water and a few minutes no one talks. In the childhood there were the same feeling when at the most interesting time you have to go back home. We were calmed by the fact that the 2 nd dive is waiting. Tomorrow we will dive near drowned ship, then we will dive in flush, during night and we will reach maximum deep of 40 meters. And if we are lucky we will meet with the king of water – sharks. The holiday has just started cause 5 days of diving is waiting.

The red sea – diver heaven that’s way Hurghada is one of the best known Egypt resort. When we arrive we settle in hotels and everyday we go near reefs and drowned ships. The beauty of corals and variety don’t leave indifferent peoples. From hurghada you can reach Luxor and to see king’s valley, the temple of Karnac. There is a way to get to pyramids too.
